Hi I’m Claire and would like to introduce myself and give you a feel of the kind of therapist and person I am. I would describe myself as being personable, knowledgeable, intuitive, real and honest. I only want the best outcomes for people and pride myself on working in a way which is relaxed, engaging and affirming of who you are. I am an integrative counsellor with person centred theory at the heart of what I do. This is because I believe in you having autonomy in your life experiences. I blend approaches in a creative manner as I know (as an AUDHD person) it is important

After experiencing trauma in childhood and having therapy – I knew my calling was to help others. As trauma continued to infiltrate into adulthood I knew that becoming a therapist would be the best way of utilising my lived experience. AuDHD meant that it took me many years to finally commit to this career choice, but afforded me plenty of experience in other roles.

I have had a few different specialist positions within my working career but they have all been what would be termed as “helping roles” and client facing. I have worked within Housing,Homelessness and Anti-Social Behaviour. Children’s Services, Behaviour Support, Education, Domestic Abuse charities and the NHS. Working in these environments in specialist roles has given me a great knowledge base regarding the difficulties people face daily.
